Now the question arises what exactly is facelift surgery and how is it related to cosmetic surgery. Facelift surgery is a complicated surgical procedure which will change your facial appearance and will give you new definition or even a new look. In the traditional facelift surgery, a slit is made in front of the ear which extends up into the hairline. The slit bends around the ear's bottom and then behind it, generally ending near the hairline on the back of the neck. After the slit is made upon the skin, the skin is alienated from the deeper tissues with a stiletto or scissors over the cheeks, chin and neck. The skin is then pulled up and down and the amount of removal of excess skin is concluded by feeling. The excess skin is then detached and the skin slits are closed with sutures and staples. In this way a traditional facelift surgery is done.
